“We expect the integration of the domestic electric appliance industry to lead to increased popularity for the consumer lifestyle products of both sectors, as well as intensified interest in the IFA among international trade visitors and the media”, explains Dr. Rainer Hecker, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the organisers of the IFA, Gesellschaft für Unterhaltungs- und Kommunikations-elektronik (gfu).

International retailers’ cooperatives add strength to the IFA
The leading international retailers’ cooperatives, ElectronicPartner, EURONICS International, expert International and telering, will be continuing their strategic partnerships at the IFA 2008. Close partnership between the industry and competent retailers is the key to effective marketing of all new products. The aim is to bring the entire range of innovations and information together and to make it available at one location to meet the needs of customers.

The successful inclusion of the IFA Home Appliances section has widened the scope of this trade show, opening up new commercial opportunities for retailers because, in its new form, the IFA covers all the different product sectors served by today’s retailers. New hall structure in 2008
Beginning in 2008, and against the background of the integration of leading consumer electronics and domestic appliance brands, a number of changes are being made to the hall allocations at the IFA. The International Trade Visitors’ Reception, occupying 800 square metres, is being moved from Hall 1.1 to allow for the inclusion of Home Appliances@IFA. New temporary halls are planned between Halls 1 and 25 in order to accommodate the “International Halls“, which were previously situated in the lower halls at the southern end of the Exhibition Grounds. In response to increase interest from Taiwanese exhibitors the IFA will be setting up a special “Taiwan Image Hall”. The “International Sourcing” section has also been assigned a separate display area in one of the temporary halls on the Berlin Exhibition Grounds.

Showstoppers 2008
During the IFA 2008 Showstoppers@IFA, the IFA’s official partner for the American market, will be creating a new format for business contacts and product presentations.

“Our aim is to make North American exhibitors, trade visitors and media representatives more aware of the global importance of the IFA. The IFA is the ideal place for establishing new business links with retailers, buyers and the “who’s who” of the international consumer electronics industry, for holding meetings and for finalising business”, Heithecker explains.

Main themes of the IFA 2008
As the world’s leading trade show for consumer electronics the IFA 2008 is presenting the entire range of new products from two dynamic and innovative sectors. With everything from giant flat screens to the tiniest TV mobile phones, from mobile media players to complete home cinemas – the IFA is presenting fascinating highlights from every area of entertainment. This year the leading domestic appliance brands will also be exhibiting their products for the first time. In this new section of the display too qualities such as simple controls, intelligent technology and an efficient use of energy and of other environmental resources are vital for ensuring the future of products, their widespread acceptance and growth.

Flat screen televisions in sensational formats: For the first time screens are so thin that they almost melt into the wall. The IFA 2008 will feature LCD models in cases with a thickness of only 1.5 inches (3.8 cm). At the same time screens are now available in dimensions that would have been thought of as impossible only a short while ago, with diagonals of up to 150 inches (381 cm).

High definition on many media platforms: Large, flat screen televisions with HD-Ready or Full-HD capabilities are making increasing inroads into European homes, thereby creating the basis for a generational change in the television field.

Another area of high-definition media will be making a major breakthrough at the IFA: HD entertainment on Blu-ray discs. The end of the competition between the different formats has boosted demand for optical HD media. This trend will also be reflected in the many different models of players, all of which can be seen and admired at the IFA 2008.

Spectacular sound to accompany big screens: Flat “sound bars” and surround projectors which use a single loudspeaker component to produce true to life stereophonic sound from up to seven channels are bound to fascinate the public just as much as the ultra-slim stereo sound columns which can be used to reproduce virtual multi-channel sound.

Mobility as the next big trend: Mobile devices for entertainment, navigation and communication are among the main factors driving the expansion of the consumer electronics sector. For example the latest sat-nav devices can also be used to watch television, and this is made possible by the inclusion of a built-in DVB-T receiver.

Totally networked media: Photos from a digital camera or mobile phone, videos from camcorders, music from MP3 players or from computers, games from consoles or movies from Blu-ray players – all this content can be made available throughout the house. MP3 players with Bluetooth, internet radios, hifi units with WLAN and Bluetooth, digital cameras with WLAN connectivity, TV sets with card readers or ethernet connections – the IFA 2008 will be using countless examples to demonstrate that the consumer electronics manufacturers are ideally equipped to meet the demands of home networks.

Domestic appliances with the focus on health and lifestyle: The new domestic appliances making their first appearance at the IFA reflect a worldwide trend for more comfort in the home and for healthier eating. New types of equipment such as induction cookers, high speed ovens and multifunctional washing machines are being bought in increasing numbers for the home, while more personal care and beauty appliances can be found in today’s bathrooms.

A future which is energy-efficient and free of pollution: In carrying out its development work in recent years the industry has been adopting a more ecologically based approach. In the case of television sets there have been substantial reductions in the power consumed when they are in use and also when they are on stand-by. At the same time the industry is constantly achieving more successes in its efforts to remove pollutants from the production process. And for many years the manufacturers of domestic appliances have been striving to improve the energy efficiency of the equipment that they produce. For example, between 1997 and 2007 the energy consumption figures for washing machines fell by 30 %, in the case of dishwashers by 40 %, and for refrigerators the reduction was as much as 45 %.

‘Made in Thailand, Special, 2008’ event


Ministry of Commerce invites leading Thai entrepreneurs to showcase their potential and engage in business trade with international customers at the forthcoming ‘Made in Thailand, Special, 2008’ event


The Ministry of Commerce is gearing up its preparation for the upcoming ‘Made in Thailand, Special, 2008’event and is inviting leading Thai entrepreneurs to take this opportunity to show the world their impressive production capabilities and to open the door to the world marketplace. The Thai merchandise extravaganza is scheduled to take place between August 8th-17th, 2008, on a grand venue of 83,000 m2 at Challenger 1-3 and Hall 3-6, IMPACT Muang Thong Thani.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Commerce, Mingkwan Sangsuwan, revealed that, “The Department of Export Promotion is assigned by the Ministry of Commerce to ensure that the Made in Thailand event this year will be the grandest ever. The exhibition area for ‘Made in Thailand, Special, 2008’ will skyrocket from 27,000 m2 last year to 83,000 m2 occupying the entire Challenger 1-3 and Hall 3-6 of IMPACT Muang Thong Thani. The number of exhibition booths will also increase from 2,500 to 4,200, to
accommodate a greater number of enthusiastic visitors from Thailand and overseas. This 10-day shopping extravaganza is expected to welcome as many as 500,000 visitors from around the world, including emerging new markets such as ASEAN countries, Africa, Eastern Europe and the Middle East.”

“The underlying concept of this event is to promote a diversified variety of quality Thai products at very special prices, in order for Thai people to buy good-quality products at highly affordable prices.
The event is aimed at stimulating Thai people to buy quality products and services from within the country,as well as, to reduce imported products from overseas. The event will also show the world the impressive production capabilities of Thai manufacturers and convince international investors to relocate their production bases to Thailand.”, added the Minister.

Attending Exhibition,But Do You Really Care ?

We often gets querry from various people willing to know ,whether we should attend this exhibition or not. Sometimes , they also share their experiences which are good and bad as well.

Once, a gentleman was very upset as he happened to have attended one of the much talked exhibition ,which was very much reflected from the contents of his correspondences , which he had with us.

We just managed to get the actual reason of his frustration which we are sharing without revealation of his identity.He is a regular attendee of exhibitions.This time there was one international auto show and he was there to exhibit his products which was related to auto products .

The worst mistake he did was not looked for entire planmap of the exhibition and finalised for a stall .The stall was at the extreme end of the last lane of the entire setup which for many reasons was not resulting into bring every person visiting the exhibitions.What added his frustration more was that he could see that people are coming upto the last lane but simply looking from far away and returning back.

This was the time when he felt that oh god ! i was in wrong place in a right platform.This was time which he waited for almost a year to attend and had certain strategies to click business, but due to wrong positioning of stall likewise wrong positioning of product, he could not implement it fully and frustration was the end product.

The agony and wrong with the exhibition was :
a) there was no board in each and every corner of the exhibition to let people know as to which category of stall are there in each and every lane.
b)proper event map was not reflected at the entrance so that people can use it effectively.
c) stalls were not properly situated and last lane was looking to be discarded lane as mob follow the mob behaviour.

This led us to ask him what was the reason and why he settled with the last lane , he said i planned everything for almost one year , but just could not plan the booking of stall in advance and planned to fail for the exhibition which is the most exciting and fruitful exhibition in auto industry.

That gentleman's experience can be taken as golden strategy when it comes to planning for attending and exhibition that advance booking and proper study of event plan map is must. Organisers of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games has chosen the famous Chinese film director Zhang Yimou Zhang Jigang and as co-managers of the opening and closing. In 2006, the Beijing Organizing Committee (BOCOG) has chosen originally American director Steven Spielberg, Yves Pepin, head of french entertainment group ECA2, and Sydney opening ceremony director Ric Birch as consultants. [2] In February 2008, Spielberg released its role as adviser to protest against China continues to support the Sudanese government and the escalation of violence in the Darfur region. [3]

It was announced that Canada Celine Dion and Taiwan's Jay Chou would be made at the opening ceremony.

Gillian Chung was originally scheduled to be an artist at the opening ceremony. Because of the photo scandal Edison Chen, director Zhang Yimou has replaced her and another Hong Kong star with CPP C-law, a pop-One.

Boycott

The idea of a boycott of the opening ceremony was encouraged by demonstrators and reviewed by a number of Heads of State. More specifically, the french president Nicolas Sarkozy has raised the possibility he might not attend in protest against the treatment of Tibetan demonstrators, but on July 4, 2008, he announced that he attend. George W. Bush had announced the day before he would be present, and Japanese Prime Minister Yasuo Fukuda also said that attend. The leaders of some other countries, including Estonia, Poland, Austria and the Czech Republic have said they will take part in a boycott of the opening ceremony. Others, like Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper and British Prime Minister Gordon Brown, announced that, although they will not be present at the ceremony, their decision is not linked to politics and they do not participate in any boycott

Exhibitions are a common trend of this age , but what was the reason of starting of exhibition? why it was felt to be started for? Is really an exhibition is needed by any business growth ? These are some of the question which often comes and go through the thought process of millions like us .

Exhibition is a sophisticated mode of communication , which evolved with a need to gather and show with and amongst a targeted audience , where like minded people meet.

This opened a way for common meeting place where one comes to sell and one comes to buy .In turn , what clicks is business.With the evolution of media as the most powerful tool for growth of business , exhibition got a bigger platform .

Soon people realised that missing an exhibition means missing the prospects of business and growth. The days have come when exhibition is an inherent factor for success of any business as people success is often measured with the attendance of exhibitions of their specific sector.

The trend has come if you are out of exhibition or dont believe in exhibition , people doubt your credibility and consider your product and company to of sub standard .We will further discuss on various aspects of exhibition in our regular series , please do keep watching this segment .

METAV 2010 is the proverbial early bird - year's 1st int'l metalworking event

Frankfurt – The next METAV 2010 is due to be held from 23 to 27 February 2010 in Düsseldorf. In opting for these dates, the Machine Tool Builders’ Association (VDW) will be staging the first trade fair event of the year for the whole metalworking branch at a truly “early bird” time slot.

“Two important international trade fairs for the branch are set to take place in Central Europe in 2010,” Dr. Detlev Elsinghorst, President of the METAV explained.

“At METAV as the first event, exhibitors have a great opportunity to bring their innovations onto the market in really good time. Since customers’ investment budgets will by then not yet have been planned down to the last detail, exhibitors will have a valuable edge on potential contract commissions.”

METAV, the International fair for manufacturing and automation, addresses the entire investment goods industry. Trade visitors primarily hail from the machine and plant construction sectors, and the automotive and automobile supplies industries. These are, by a long way, the major production technology user sectors. And they face up to fierce international competition. It is only by means of intelligent and efficient manufacturing technology that they can maintain and extend their lead worldwide. At the METAV in Düsseldorf, they can simultaneously glean specific information on new solutions while also using the trade fair as an important and highly practical business platform for their investment decisions.

The METAV is one of the most important technology showcases for manufacturing technology in even-numbered years. It exhibits the entire spectrum for industrial production. Main emphases amongst the goods on offer are on machine tools for cutting and forming, manufacturing systems, precision tools, automated material flow, computer technology, industrial electronics, and parts and accessories.

At the last METAV in 2008, more than 840 international exhibitors presented their products and services. They attracted in excess of 52 000 trade visitors from 41 countries to Düsseldorf. In percentage figures, this was an increase of 8 per cent in comparison to the previous event.

Moscow International Automobile Salon-2008,September

The scheduled Moscow Automobile Salon (MIAS 2008) will take place August 29 through September 7, 2008 in Moscow at Crocus Expo IEC.

The Salon will be co-organized by the Association of Russian Automakers and the International exhibition centre Crocus Expo. The running dates of MIAS-2008 are included into the official calendar of events of the Organisation Internationale des Constructeurs d’Automobiles (OICA) and it is held under patronage of OICA.

The organizers and the exhibitors of the Moscow International Automobile Salon 2008 representing practically all world famous automobile brands aim to organize and hold the event according to such criteria as quantity and the status of premiers, saturation and appeal of various events, the concept of fairgrounds layout, convenience of navigation between expositions for various categories of visitors that will allow to rank МIАS 2008 on the level with such authoritative motor shows as in Geneva, Frankfurt, Paris, London, Tokyo and Detroit.

Already today almost a year prior to the beginning of the Moscow International Automobile Salon 2008 it is possible to state with full confidence that similar automobile motor shows neither in Russia nor in many other countries of the world has been held yet.

The major section of MIAS 2008 will feature achievements of global motor industry and products of a number of prominent tire manufacturers and it will be accommodated at exhibition halls of Pavilion 3 Crocus Expo IEC and the exhibit space of the section will constitute more than 60 000 sq m of the fairgrounds.

The second pavilion will host expositions of the manufacturers of automotive components, accessories, technological equipment and wide range of other products related to car and its operation. The expositions of the International Automobile exhibition InterAuto will form part of MIAS 2008.

Since MIAS 2008 is an event of International level the press coverage by the leading Mass Media and tremendous interest from automotive segment experts has been predetermined.

In conformity with global practice Moscow Autosalon August 26 and 27 will be opened only for the Press and August 28 only for the industry specialists. The Motor show welcome other connoisseurs of automobile culture during other 10 days (August 29 through September 7), including two weekends. Crocus Expo IEC pavilions and test drive facilities will be daily opened from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.

Dental Expo ,Russia , September 2008

The 24nd Moscow International Dental Forum prepares for outstanding exhibition

In September 2008 Moscow will host the 24th International Dental Forum including the international exhibition Dental-Expo. Started in 1996 the Dental-Expo grew from promising local dental fair to one of the key dental events in the region, one of the largest dental exhibitions internationally. As of volume of spaces and number of visitors Dental-Expo may be obviously listed among World Top dental exhibitions.

Two parts of the 24nd edition of Moscow International Dental Forum will be the DENTAL-EXPO exhibition and the 12th Congress of Russian Dental Association with a big national dental conference including topics in general dentistry, esthetics, dental innovations and dental lab.


Scientifical part of the event is promoted by the Russian Dental Association (RDA) and Firm "Dental-Expo" under the support of the Ministry of Health and Social Development of Russia, Moscow State Medical Dental University (MGMSU), Central Scientific Research Institute of Dentistry (CNIIS), Russian Academy of Medical Science (RAMN). The commercial exhibition is organized by Firm "Dental-Expo" under support of Russian Dental Industry Association (RDI).

Planned gross exhibition space is ~19000 sqm, which is going to be extended according to the current interest tendencies of industry. There are expected more than 400 companies and more than 25000 visitors to take part in the Forum.
